Methods: Five cohorts of the entire New Zealand population for 1981-86, 1986-1991, 1991-1996, 1996-2001 and 2001-2004 have been created and allows probabilistisch relating to cancer registry data sets, direct determination of ethnic and socio-economic trends in breast cancer incidence.
Search results: Breast cancer rates increased over all ethnic and socio-economic groups from 1981 to 2004.
Maori women had the highest age, prices, and the difference between the Maori and European or other women from 7% to 24% in 2001 4 in 1981 6 increased consistently standardized. Pacific and Asian women had consistently lower prices of breast cancer than European/other women about the period studied (12% and 28% lower, or in the course of time in a pool), although young Pacific had slightly higher incidence rates than young European/other women women.
A gradient between high and low income cancer was obviously women, high-income women with breast cancer about 10% higher and this difference does not significantly changed over the years.
Conclusions: Differences in breast cancer incidence between European and Pacific women and socio-economic groups be explained in terms of known risk factors. It is obvious however no easy explanation for the relatively high incidence among Maori.
Further reduce the high Maori breast cancer, the prices can contribute to explore burden of breast cancer among Maori women as also improve our understanding of the etiology of breast cancer research.
